After my old vacuum began to play up and lose power last October ('08), I decided to try out one of the Dyson's after speaking to a close friend who has one. Some of the reviews online suggest that Dyson vacuums are one of the most powerful, which is just what I need with 3 dogs and 2 cats!
I went with the DC14 Animal after reading about its features and results with getting rid of pet hair from bedding and furniture. I wasn't dissapointed, the vacuum is excellent at vacuuming cat and dog hair, and of course on carpet dirt as well.
However, my only regret is that I didn't go with DC25 Animal. I don't mind the roller wheels on the DC14 vacuum, but after vacuuming for a while it can get a bit tiring to move it around. The ball wheel of the DC25 might have been easier for vacuuming large spaces like I often do.
What I do like is the clear bin so that I can see when the vacuum needs emptying, plus I haven't got to pay out for vacuum bags.
I've only had the vacuum a few months, but so far it's still working as it was when new. I'd recommend the DC 14 Animal, but also suggest checking out the DC 25 Animal before buying if like me you'd prefer an easier to manoeuvre vacuum.
