Rechargeable Vacuum Cleaners

Vacuum cleaners have gone a long way. What used to be machines that caused homemakers so much stress is now the best friend of every one. Even kids today love to have their share of the vacuum cleaning chore. New designs, technologies, and features help take today’s vacuum cleaning into a completely new level of experience. Cordless rechargeable vacuum cleaners, perhaps, are the most fitting example.

Cordless or handheld vacuum cleaners operate using batteries. Advancements in battery technology have made it possible for vacuum cleaner manufacturers to come up with battery-powered new models that can last a longer time. Do not be surprised though that most of the handheld vacuum cleaners run only for 25 minutes of non-stop use. That is a very short period if you fully rely on your cordless cleaner. Recharging batteries requires at least 24 hours of charging.

The best thing that you should do then is to charge the battery immediately after every use. In addition, do not use the cordless vacuum cleaner for a large cleaning task, as you will only be frustrated for its short running time.

Heavier tasks, such as vacuuming pet hair and accumulated dust, will require more power for your cordless vacuum cleaner. You will be better off with a large upright cleaner to save you time. Leave only the small dust cleaning tasks to the handheld cleaner. Remember, the heavier the task, the more battery power it consumes.

Check the manual and the recommendations on the proper ways of recharging your vacuum cleaner’s battery. Some products require more than 24 hours of charging and some may only need shorter charging time. The most important thing, however, is to charge the battery without interruption.

Some vacuum cleaning products have unique specifications for the battery use. For instance, a product may not allow for battery draining. If the maximum battery life of the cleaner is 45 minutes, make sure not to use the device beyond that time, even if the cleaner still runs. Do not wait for the device to lose power and stop, as it will only cause battery drainage.

Robotic vacuum cleaners also operate the same way as handheld cleaners. Although relatively more expensive, it needs the same care and guidelines in recharging its batteries as well.

Rechargeable vacuum cleaners vary from model to model. The longer the battery life, the more recharging time it requires. However, just like our house that needs cleaning, these cleaners also need maintenance. Remember to recharge the batteries after every use and never drain battery power.
